Shauna Hormiere is a passionate violinist with 20 years of music studies, performances, and experiences. Shauna strives to reach the greatest level of her technical and performing capabilities, while bending the musical boundaries in her composing and songwriting.
She has played with the Butler University Symphony Orchestra, the Chicago Youth Symphony, the Youth Symphony of DuPage, and the Wheaton Pops Orchestra. Shauna has been concertmistress of the OPUS orchestra, Glenbard West Orchestra, the Civic Theatre Orchestra in Indianapolis, as well as the Ohio University Symphony Orchestra, and a member of the Klinder Graduate Quartet. She has played side-by-sides with The East Coast Chamber Orchestra and played in masterclasses for ensembles such as Brooklyn Rider and The Eroica Trio. Additionally, she has toured Italy and Slovenia with the International Music Festival of the Adriatic.
She has become one of the leading violinists in the Phoenix area and spends her time performing in front of hundreds at weddings, concert venues, and restaurants. Performing makes Shauna happy!
Shauna graduated with a bachelor's degree in Violin Performance from Butler University. She completed her master's degree in Violin Performance at Ohio University, studying with and full scholarship and assistantship under Dawn Wohn.
An avid teacher, Shauna has taught at Stacey De School of Performing Arts, Butler Community Arts School, Christel House, Shortridge High School, OPUS Chamber Music Camp, Athens Community Arts School, and B Amazing Music. She is currently an orchestra teacher with the Chandler Unified School District and was recognized by ABC15 for her work in the schools. She was also given the starfish award in 2023 from CUSD 80's Superintendent for her work inspiring children with her violin and love of music.
